Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown picked up a knee injury during his side’s 30-20 win over the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Divisional tie last weekend. 

This prompted many to fear that the wide receiver would be out for the Buccaneers’ Conference title game against the Green Bay Packers. The wide receiver had to get an MRI done to ascertain the true nature of his injury. And the news of his progress is a bit of a mixed bag.

As per NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Brown has avoided a serious injury. As per his MRI reports, the wide receiver’s injury lay off shouldn’t be too long.

But given his recovery seen so far, he isn’t a sure-shot starter for Sunday either. As per Schefter, the wide receiver is being considered day-to-day in preparation for the NFC title game against the Packers.

Currently utilized as their 3rd wide receiver, Antonio Brown has rediscovered some of his form which made him so deadly over the years. 

Ahead of the game against the Saints, Brown registered 6 touchdowns in 5 games. Including 1, in their first playoff game against the Washington Football Team.

The wide receiver played a limited number of snaps versus the Saints. He struggled with the injury for a large part of the game and connected for only 1 pass worth 10 yards. 

Bucs have plenty to fall back on

The Buccaneers passing game will surely miss Brown’s presence, especially in the short routes. But that is not to say that they do not have the resources to slot in a 3rd receiver. 

With Mike Evans and Chris Godwin leading the charge, the Buccaneers showed that the duo of Scott Miller and Tyler Johnson have what it takes to get the job done. 

The 2 young wide receivers starred in the game against the Saints. Johnson made headlines as well after making an incredible play in the 4th quarter of the game.
