Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers suffered an abrupt end to their 2020 NFL campaign 2 weeks ago. The Wisconsin-based franchise was handed a 26-31 defeat in the NFC Championship Game at the hands of Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The NFC North champions suffered a similar loss on the same hurdle last season against the San Francisco 49ers.

Aaron Rodgers went 33 of 48, throwing for 346 yards with 3 passing TDs against 1 interception. But he could not do enough to lead his team to what would have been an inspiring comeback.
A crucial 4th down call just before half time was the topic of discussion at the post-game presser. But Rodgers added some more drama to the mix when he claimed that he was ‘unsure’ of his future with the Packers.

But almost 2 weeks since that fateful night, Green Bay Head Coach Matt LaFleur remains confident of retaining Rodgers in the summer.

Matt LaFleur appeared before the press earlier today. He addressed the Aaron Rodgers trade rumors with a tinge of bullishness in his attitude.
When asked if Rodgers will return for the Packers in 2021, LeFleur retorted, “Is that a trick question? Absolutely. There’s no doubt about it. You’re talking about the guy that’s going to win the MVP of the league. We’re not in this position without him.

“So I couldn’t be happier with not only his performance but how he led this football team, all the little things he does within that locker room to ensure that everybody is locked in, focused, ready to go.
“So yeah, absolutely, he will be here. For a long time. I know I’ve said that before, but for a long time,” LaFleur told reporters earlier today via NFL Network.
Rodgers has thrown for 4,500+ yards with 50+ passing touchdowns this season (including post-season stats). He will be in the race for the NFL MVP title along with Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes.
But at 37, one can’t help but wonder if time is running out for Aaron and the Packers to make it to another Super Bowl game. Maybe 2021 will be different, or not.
