The Chicago Bears breathed the first sigh of relief in almost a year. The team snapped the longest active losing streak in the history of the NFL on Thursday Night. Chicago Bears finally scored a win for the first time in not only this season but also the last 15 games, all thanks to D. J. Moore and Justin Feilds. Unfortunately (or fortunately for the team), Chase Claypool will not be a part of the celebration.

Chicago initially bid for Claypool, as they wanted a wide receiver to support their quarterback, Justin Feilds. It is best to say that after being a part of the team, Claypool has not only been of any help to the QB but also has become a headache for the Bears. One they were very happy to get rid of.

Chicago Bears do not need Chase Claypool anymore

While it was evident to the fans after the Bears were leaving Claypool at home since the last two games, the team made it official on October 6. Claypool was traded to the Miami Dolphins. The team will get the WR and a 2025 seventh-round pick for a 2025 sixth-round selection with physical pending. But this didn’t come as a surprise to the audience. Formerly, the WR played for the Steelers, who traded him to the Bears mid-season last year. Not only did the Bears go without any win after the acquisition, they remained winless this season as well.

Claypool’s records with the team had been another indicator of the swap. The WR managed to make only 18 catches in 191 yards with one touchdown in 10 games at Chicago. In the season as well, the WR did not show interest in the game, or even getting the ball for that matter, let alone blocking. As a result, he has been traded for the second time in a single year. At least, Claypool’s swap to the Dolphins proved to be a lucky charm for the team.

DJ Moore breaks a historical record

Adding to the celebrations list for the Bears, DJ Moore and Justin Feilds absolutely destroyed the Commanders on Thursday night. Moore beautifully finished the game with a 56-yard touchdown, the last of his three touchdowns of the night. Along with this, Moore scored 230 receiving yards, second to Alshon Jeffery’s 249 against the Vikings in 2013, in the team’s history.

And to add to the list of records Moore broke that night, he became the first player with a minimum of 200 receiving yards with three touchdowns in the same game since Harlon Hill did it against the 49ers in 1954.
