The last year’s Super Bowl winners are facing their worst nightmare this season. Their bad luck started before Week 1 and now they have freshly lost against the Green Bay Packers. It is sad to see the team who lifted the Lombardi Trophy high in the sky come crashing down. When the weakest teams went against each other, the Packers could bring the LA Rams down on their knees to 24-12. Therefore, the loss kicked the defending champions from advancing to the playoff.

Los Angeles played their worst season under head coach Sean McVay. They also earned the honor of being the first Super Bowl-winning team that missed the postseason. Before them, Denver Broncos held that title in 2016. The Fearsome Foresome are also only one reader away from breaking the league record for losses suffered by the former champion.  Ari Meirov updated on Twitter about the team’s downfall. Fans did not miss to react to the unfortunate news.

Since the start of the season, something felt amiss.

What went wrong with the team?

The head coach shared during the season that because of the short offseason, his team players’ health was negatively impacted. Injuries started plaguing the roster. Stafford’s state was dubious throughout the season. Questions arose about his throwing elbow during the training camp. Also, Van Jefferson, the team’s WR, underwent knee surgery during the training camp and returned in Week 8.

Apart from the big-named players, the offensive line was again struck with multiple injuries. As many as twelve men were out in the injured reserve.

Although the defensive line was defective, the most upsetting part of the roster was the running back. The Rams thought Cam Akers would return after his pre-knee injury. They had the trust of Darrell Henderson to help them. However, their plans failed as Akers wanted out in mid-October even before returning to the team, and Henderson was waived a month later.

Even though the defense of the team was comparatively better and was ranked at number 4, it was not enough to compensate for the struggling offense. The Rams had to forget their dream of advancing to the playoffs and sadly watch the games from their homes.
