The past couple of years have been particularly difficult for the Buffalo Bills franchise. First, it was the Damar Hamlin mishap that shook the entire NFL to its very core, and now one of the Buffalo Bills owners is fighting an uphill battle. Both Hamlin and the owner suffered similar setbacks but under different circumstances.

With all of the concerns, the Bills’ owner, Terry Pegula, turned to the fanbase seeking prayers and hoping that the loyal Buffalo natives pull through once again as they did for Hamlin.

Prayers for Kim Pegula

Kim Pegula is the co-owner of Buffalo Bills and the wife of Terry Pegula. Earlier Terry Pegula pleaded with the Buffalo fans and supporters to join them in prayer for his wife’s “full recovery”. Kim Pegula suffered a cardiac arrest on her 53rd birthday, the 7th of June. Since then her recovery has been hindered as severe damage has been observed to her brain.

Terry Pegula recorded a video message for fans informing them of his wife’s critical condition, and seeking prayers. The video was part of an hourlong prayer service and vigil held Saturday afternoon in honor of the Bills’ co-owner.

The video was shown to a crowd of 300-plus at Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church, while another 300-350 people joined the live stream co-organized by Kim’s alma mater, Houghton University.

Expressing his thoughts, Terry Pegula said, “Kim and our family have entered a new season in our lives, The beginning of this season has been difficult, But we ask, with God’s help, that Kim’s recovery continues. We also ask, with God’s help, that Kim has a full recovery. We ask humbly, but we pray boldly.”

The Buffalo Bills fanbase is all too aware of the power of prayer, they did it for Hamlin, and they did it through all of the losing seasons. And Terry Pegula hopes that the fans will do it once again for his beloved wife.

A miraculous recovery

While Kim Pegula struggles, her family has been clinging to hopes of seeing her in perfect condition again. Many present at the service, time and again, reiterated the power of the almighty and their supreme trust in him.

Kim’s father, Ralph Kerr was also present at the ceremony and said, “She’s going to be right back to where she was on June 6 of last year, I believe that.”

Additionally, there is a chance for miracles to happen. Doctors told Kerr that only one in five people “who experience what Kim did ever live to tell about it”. The same doctor told Kerr, “The fact that she’s alive is well on the way to where you’re going to be.”

While doctors believe that the intense brain therapy would aid Kim’s brain in rewiring itself, the Buffalo fanbase has also rallied behind the cause and started ‘praying’.
