Many feel the reason for their poor showing on the offensive front last season was down to the fact that they lost stare running back Saquon Barkley early on in the season.

Drafted as the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the running back from Penn State lit the league up during his explosive rookie campaign.

Winning the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, the running back earned his first Pro Bowl call up all while finishing second in the league for most rushing yards.

After a minor dip in his output, the running back looked to return to his very best in 2020. But an ACL tear early on left Barkley on the sidelines for the rest of the campaign.

Now back to near full fitness, the running back posted a video of him working out which will have Giants fans optimistic about 2021.

Barkley underwent surgery in October for his ACL. While nearly fit and ready to take the field again, the running back recently stated that he doesn’t wish to put a timeline on his return just yet.

But that doesn’t mean he’s not working his way towards getting there. In a series of Instagram stories, the running back was seen running a number of drills at the beach.

The running back was seen sprinting, cutting past dummies, and catching the ball as he looks to mount a charge towards regaining his 2018 form.

Missing 14 games, Barkley hardly missed a step as he looks to add to the Giants offense which has made a number of key additions over the offseason including the like of wide receiver Kenny Golladay

Barkley’s form will play a crucial role in the Giants’ playoff aspirations. With their last postseason appearance back in 2016, it’s been a while since the Giants made some noise in the playoffs.
