Tension grows amongst the Dallas Cowboys as they were at the receiving end of an overtime loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their lead quarterback, Dak Prescott, is now feeling the pressure, as he is also on the road to having a career-high in interceptions. To express his disappointment, Prescott uttered two words to sum up his failure.

The Cowboys entered the season with the same expectation as they do every year, that is, to win their first Super Bowl since 1995. Dallas played decently throughout the season. Therefore, fans were expecting to see their favorite franchise advance in the playoffs.

Dak Prescott takes accountability for slumping

The team needed only one victory to seal their spot in the playoff. However, they were unable to bring their magnetism against a sub -.500 team. Their sloppy win cost them their sweet chance of repeating as NFC East champions.

In the game, the 29-year-old QB threw two interceptions (his eight in his last six games) which ruined their lead of 27-10. Because of his high number of interceptions, the QB is getting under a lot of heat. “Frustration grows,” the Dallas Cowboys quarterback had said. The 2x Pro Bowler’s stats were amazing when he got his team to 21-7. He completed 15 of 16 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a strong 12-yard rush.

However, Dallas secured a postseason spot despite a 40-34 overtime loss to Jacksonville on Sunday thanks to the Seattle Seahawks’ Thursday loss to the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Commanders’ Sunday night loss to the New York Giants.

What is next for Prescott and his pals?

Prescott and his teammates will play one of their most important games for an NFC East showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams have saved playoff spots for themselves. The Eagles will have to defeat the Cowboys if they wish to win the NFC East title. 

Even though America’s team could not win on Sunday, they clinched a spot for themselves nonetheless. Fans will see their favorite team enter the postseason yet again.
