Tua Tagovailoa led the Miami Dolphins to a big win over the Bill Belichick-led New England Patriots on Sunday. With the Dolphins now 9-5, and 2nd in the NFC East, the team from Miami has a decent chance of making it to the postseason. Meanwhile, for Belichick’s Patriots, this is their first season since 2008 that they failed to make it into the Playoffs.

Tua Tagovailoa ends Belichick’s dominance over rookie quarterbacks

Tua’s win is quite a rare feat. Tua Tagovailoa became only the second ever rookie quarterback in history to get the better of Belichick and his Patriots.

The first rookie to do it was Geno Smith back in 2013. 7 years in between, no rookie QB has managed to get the better of coach Belichick. A sign, perhaps, that the Patriots dynasty is finally coming to an end.

While Tua failed to get a touchdown, his teammates did enough to see out the Patriots. Thus crushing the Patriots’ ambitions of making it to the playoffs.

Unfortunately, for the Patriots, the transition has not been smooth. Falling to a 6-8 record, the thought of not seeing Belichick’s Patriots in the playoffs is unimaginable.
