Days after calling Tom Brady a horrible role model, Skip Bayless justified the quarterback’s performance with past statistics. Ever since the 2022 season began, the quarterback had been struggling to find the right balance, especially after losing against the top sides like Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers.

After Week 6 games wrapped, the Buccaneers fell down, leveling their season record to 3-3. All thanks to several other reasons that hampered Brady’s progress moving ahead.

Apart from jitters in his marriage life, the quarterback was also not able to build a formidable side. Half of the O-linemen got injured and have been healing from their preseason injuries. While this issue got resolved, the receiver corps took a major hit with Julio Jones and Chris Godwin stepping out.

Moreover, Mike Evans’ one-game suspension added more damage to the gameplay. All the credit goes to the defense, who remained astute throughout and didn’t let the score slip away from their zone.

While all these issues were discussed in the recent episode of UNDISPUTED, Bayless wasn’t ready to agree that Brady was out of Super Bowl contention. The Hall of Famer wideout Shannon Sharpe placed his points on the table, but Bayless believes that the comeback master has a lot more left in the season to prove.

“I don’t say that he’s played great. I just say he’s been averaged even by his standards by his youngest greatest standard.” Bayless said on the show. “He’s been averaged so far, but I don’t see bad the way you see bad,” he added, quashing all the views put forward by Sharpe, claiming that his statements needed correction.

When Tom Brady admitted his mistakes

The Buccaneers quarterback is playing at 45, and there are several challenges in his path mentally and physically to tackle. However, this doesn’t seem to affect his game unless the lack of execution turned out to be a villain.

After the Week 6 loss, Brady admitted his squad was capable of playing a lot better than their performance. “I think we’re all playing less than what we’re capable of,” the passer said to reporters in the post-match press conference. “We’ve got to look at ourselves in the mirror and figure out why.”

“It’s all execution. We all got to do a better job… Obviously, a lot to correct,” he added to his explanation. Well, the Panthers are next on the line for Brady and Co. Wins are quite essential to keep their playoff aspirations alive.
