Tom Brady went through the darkest time of his career when he was accused of being involved in the most controversial Deflategate Scandal. The incident came to light after the 2014 AFC Championship game between New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts. After the NFL and NFLPA filed motions in court, Brady was handed a four-game suspension at the outset of the 2016 season.

The year 2015 and 2016 were definitely the most stressful time of the quarterback’s life. The then Patriots quarterback said that it was the first September that he had for himself since his “eighth-grade year.” “I didn’t even know what a September was like without football,” Brady said.

Brady went on a trip to Costa Rica with his wife during that time. “That was really good for our relationship,” Gisele said. We haven’t had a family holiday together since he was at Michigan.”

“A very small gesture like that allowed me to recognize the things that I need to do in our relationship to make sure that she feels supported too,” said Brady, “because she’d supported me for the previous year and a half. She held me up when I was weak and angry and sad and depressed. That was a really dark time.”

That suspension brought Brady closer to his loved ones, especially Gisele. Gisele has been a role model wife for the quarterback, and going through some tough times like that requires a lot of heart. However, it did not take long for Tom Brady to bounce back up from his time of adversity as he went on a revenge campaign and claimed the Super Bowl trophy that very year.
