The Dallas Cowboys succumbed to their second-straight loss of the season at the hands of Cleveland Browns over the weekend. They were outplayed by a 38-49 scoreline on Sunday. Dak Prescott had one hell of a game on the offensive front but did not get any support from his defensive teammates.

Coach Mike McCarthy suffered his first defeat as an NFL Head Coach at the AT&T Stadium. However, he is not the only person agitated by the Cowboys’ sub-par defense of late.

Marcus Spears bills Dallas Cowboys’ as soft

On the latest broadcast of ESPN’s Get Up, host Mike Greenberg was joined by Marcus Spears, Greg McElroy, and Jeff Saturday. Former Dallas Cowboys star, Marcus Spears, delivered a scathing analysis of the team’s defense in light of recent results.

“I got to identify two guys and I hate calling guys out like because…trust me it’s a team effort on them sucking and being bad on defense but Dontari Poe and Trysten Hill, these tackles, I don’t think they want to play football.

“Based on what I watched against the Cleveland Browns, they don’t want to play football…. We know that D-tackles are responsible for keeping linebackers clean.

“Where is DeMarcus Lawrence affecting games…. We’ve been screaming, ‘Get Earl Thomas, trade for Jamal Adams’. When you look at this defense…. Find me one guy, one guy on this damn defense that bothers anybody or changes the game plan.

“If you don’t have it in the NFL and if you got guys that are soft and are going to take a whooping for an entire game, you have no shot,” Spears said on the show.

The Cowboys defense will need significant improvement in the coming weeks if they intend to improve their 1-3 record and make the Playoffs this year. They need a win against the New York Giants this weekend to build some momentum for the same.
