It was a great overseas win for the Giants in Week 5 against one of the formidable sides in London. All thanks to Saquon Barkley, who showed up in the final minutes of the game, to break the 20-20 tie and add those crucial six points to their scorecard. For a moment, Barkley took the management’s breath away, but he turned out to be a true workhorse for Daniel Jones.

While everyone happen to showcase a rusty play coming out of an injury, Barkley contradicted all those notions and led the team toward a crucial win. He missed 14 offensive snaps in Sunday’s game after tumbling under linebacker De’Vondre Campbell on a tackle.

Immediately he was taken to the sidelines. He took off his helmet, and for a further examination, staff took him to the locker room. He clutched his right shoulder, almost hinting to the fans that he won’t return, but all he was thinking, was about getting back and winning the game for the side.

Head coach Brian Daboll affirmed that his RB was a fierce competitor. And If there were any slight chances of return, he would take that.

“There’s no doubt what he brings to our offense any time he is on the field is special and unique,” quarterback Daniel Jones said. “To have him back at that point in the game was a little bit of a lift for us. That was a big time,” he added. The 25-year-old contributed 13 carries for 70 yards and made three catches.

His record has been phenomenal despite his trust with frequent injuries. Barkley missed 18 games in the last two seasons with several injuries. But he always remained a leader in rushing yards and played a pivotal role in crucial knocks.

How did Saquon Barkley respond to the situation?

With already a tie on the scoreboard fans almost lost hopes of a comeback. But Barkley kept his cool and made sure that he returned to the field as early as possible. With 10 minutes remaining on the clock, he showed up, adding six more to their score.

“I wasn’t woozy at all. I wasn’t stumbling,” Barkley said. “If anything, I was pacing back and forth because I wanted to get back in the game. I put my trust in [the training staff and doctors]. I spent a little more time with them the last couple of years rehabbing than I would like, but I know they have my best interest at heart. They did everything they could to help me get back in the game and help the team win.” he added.

The Giants’ offensive unit is a depleting squad. As a result, Barkley’s involvement in the game is very much crucial for the side. Hopefully, they maintain their winning streak in the upcoming weeks as well.
