NFL GOAT Tom Brady sprang a surprise with his retirement u-turn in the offseason. He announced his sudden exit in February and reversed the decision after 40 days. The 45-year-old made a speedy return. His mission is to win his eighth Super Bowl ring this year. The 40-year-old senior pro Super Bowl champion, Andrew Whitworth, gave his insights on Brady’s retirement.

The former American football tackle spoke to Rachel A. DeMita about why there was something weird about the GOAT’S decision to call it a day. “I don’t know. It is one of the easiest things to say in hindsight. But there was something weird about how he kind of said he was done that I don’t know it didn’t add up to me. So it didn’t really shock me when he came back,” Whitworth said. He holds the record of being the first offensive lineman to play in the Super Bowl in his 40s.
On Sunday, Rams LT Andrew Whitworth will become the first offensive lineman in his 40's to ever play in the Super Bowl.
He will also join just Tom Brady and Jerry Rice amongst non-specialists to do so.

When Tom Brady said he wanted to play till he was 55
Tom Brady set his bar high. He wants to play the game for as long as he can. There are a few stars who achieved this feat in the past. Former legendary QB George Blanda played 26 seasons, from 1949 to 1975. Blanda retired when he was 48 years old. TB12 started his journey in 2000 when he joined New England Patriots as a 22-year-old promising QB. Later, Tom Terrific created path-breaking records in his illustrious career.

Currently, he is playing his 23rd season in the league. TB12 hasn’t opened up about his future plans. However, in 2021, Brady said he can play till he is around 50 or 55. The 45-year-old said his physical body won’t be a problem. “I really think I can play as long as I want,” he added.
Brady and Co. meet Chiefs test
Tom Brady is set to play against Patrick Mahomes on Sunday. The 27-year-old Mahomes expressed his desire to keep playing till his body allows him. PM15 has a clear role model who will appear as his opponent on Super Sunday.
The Bucs and Chiefs have a 2-1 record after three weeks of intense action. They will aim to secure their third win to keep their campaign on a positive track.
