Tom Brady’s career is legendary, but we can’t talk about it without covering the New England Patriots. In his two decades at the franchise, Brady won the Super Bowl six times, making them the most feared franchise in the NFL. He elevated them to the status of a dynasty, the most dominant team in the history of the sport.

When Brady left New England in 2020, the sports world came to a standstill. He joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and led them to the Super Bowl; a seventh one for the GOAT. Now that he called curtains on his career, Brady thanked a bunch of people on his social media, except for the New England Patriots.

While one can argue that Brady already thanked the Patriots once when he left the franchise, seeing them missing from his retirement address felt groundbreaking. It even sheds light on Brady’s last few months in New England, and the deterioration of his relationship with coach Bill Belichick.

Despite leaving the franchise two years ago, it’s clear that many fans in New England still care deeply about their former quarterback. And why wouldn’t they? No athlete brought so much joy to the city like Brady did, and there will probably never be another athlete like him in the world. As for the Pats, they have no choice but to hope for the best next season, and that Mac Jones can do his best Brady impression and lead them to the promised land.
