Without a doubt, the 2020 NFL season is one of the most peculiar editions in the last 50 years or so. The major player opt-outs prior to the start of the season were an indication that his year is going to be filled with surprises.

Then, we saw Denver Broncos take on New Orleans Saints without a ‘proven’ quarterback this weekend. All three Broncos quarterbacks Brett Rypien, Jeff Driskill, and Drew Locke were ineligible to play on Sunday.

Head Coach Vic Fangio was left with a major dilemma on his hands due to the whole quarterback issue due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Stephen A. Smith calls for a 2-week halt after Denver Broncos chaos

Here’s what the ‘great’ Stephen A. Smith said on the latest installment of ESPN’s First Take on the Broncos QB situation and its consequences.

“There’s nobody to play the position, I would have rather had them forfeit the game, then be subjected to that kind of stuff.

“Because again, you’re playing, you still got defensive players, you still playing a football game, it is still a violent sport, somebody could ultimately go out there, get themselves hurt, etc, etc. I understand this kind of stuff comes with it, I get it.

“I actually think that it’s gotten to a point where the NFL should stop the season for 2 weeks. So everybody could get their ducks in a row.

“Everybody could get their act together, and then come back after that two-week hiatus and have a bubble kind of atmosphere in their respective scenario, just to force it for the last month,” Smith said earlier today.

After last night’s result, coach Fangio’s squad is now on a 4-7 record heading into Week 13. Of course, they will welcome back their ousted quarterbacks next weekend. But with just 5 games left to play in 2020, can the Broncos still make the Playoffs?
