After a rough start to the season, the Green Bay Packers are on a losing streak. While the fans are disappointed with the team’s direction, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been very publically critical of the team and his young teammates.

Recently, he was very vocal about his disappointments, despite coming under heavy fire from the press for his brazen acts. It seems he is not going to face any heat from his head coach, Matt LaFleur.

After the defeat to Washington Commanders, The Packers’ fan base and their quarterback were equally irked. And appearing on the Pat McAfee show, he made his feelings clear. Going as far as to say that players that are making too many mistakes should not be playing. And while many disagreed with his vocal and critical approach, head coach Matt LaFleur seems to agree with the 38 years old.

In his Wednesday press conference, LaFleur said pretty much the same things as Rodgers. Even though, with much more tamed words, he also insinuated the importance of accountability in the team. “We definitely addressed just accountability and how we’re all accountable to one another, and we need everybody, you know, doing everything the right way,” added LaFleur. “We have to be truthful with one another, and sometimes the truth hurts.”

Aaron Rodgers on being the underdog now

The Packers lost their third straight game last Sunday to the Commanders, going to a 3-4 record in 7 games this season. The team has formerly finished at the top of the NFC North for multiple years.

However, their fortunes have turned on their heads. Losing Davante Adams to the Raiders this offseason has really shaken up the offense. In addition to Adams, the team lost Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Where the fans expected a few moves from the front office, there was no big-name player brought in to help the team, leaving Rodgers with only Cobb and Allen Lazard as experienced receivers. They picked up WRs in the later rounds of the draft. These young players have shown their inexperience multiple times. As a result, the Packers are currently ranked only 23rd in the league for points scored per game.

Talking about the struggles, Rodgers told the fans they are now the ‘Underdogs,’ far from the Super Bowl favorites they used to be.
