The 2022 NFL has not been the greatest of seasons for Broncos QB Russell Wilson. The experienced QB has had an underwhelming season so far. In his 11-year-career, Wilson has not faced such a slump as per records. It made several fans and experts question his game and intent.

Russell Wilson is in the middle of a weak campaign

All is not well with the NFL superstar. The 33-year-old has completed only 59.4 per cent of his passes this season. It ranked him 28th in the league. His 82.8 passer rating is 22nd in the NFL. Wilson has thrown just four touchdown passes. Meanwhile, the Broncos are one of the low-performing teams in scoring points.

Wilson was given a five-year $245 million extension for the Broncos. He is the second-highest-paid player in NFL and the OT loss against the Colts became the talking point in the NFL. Wilson later revealed that he played the game with an injured shoulder. The injury is not expected to keep him out of the game against the Chargers. 

Wilson and the Broncos need to steer up

In the Week 3 game, the star QB showed glimpses of his form, to help the Broncos register an 11-10 comeback win against the 49ers. Russell Wilson finished 20–of-33 for 184 yards. However, he did not register any touchdowns or turnovers.

‘The Professor’ said he is just one good game away from coming back to form. However, the fans are impatient. Their frustration is also linked to Broncos’ defensive football this season. But, all is not over for Wilson and the Broncos. They have a 2-3 record and can bounce back in big time, and make the haters their new admirers.
