The Kansas City Chiefs were able to pull off a brilliant feat with their Super Bowl win. They went on to win their Lombardi trophy in a nail-biting finish against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, there was a moment during the game when Chiefs fans were scared of the chance to win was slipping away. The cause for such worry was none other than Patrick Mahomes and his recurring injury.

Early on in the game, fans all over the country saw Mahomes go down on the field after facing off against the Eagles defense. Furthermore, his being mic’d up also gave fans an instant look into Mahomes’ first reaction to limping off the field. Scarily enough, the visuals right after his injury seemed extreme enough for the hopes of winning to slip away from the Chiefs.

Early on in the game, Mahomes made an interesting play for the Chiefs. He went on to fake a pass and rushed ahead to cover the 10 yards. While he tried to rush past the defence he was tackled by his ankles.

After he was knocked down, it was obvious that Mahomes was hurt on his ankle. As the defense and the offense reset, Mahomes walked off the field limping. Moreover, due to the fact that he was mic’d up, fans were able to hear the QB moaning in pain. Even the commentators went on to say, “Mahomes is hurt he’ll get up limping,” and expressed how the QB was fending off an old ankle injury. However, Mahomes was able to rally and pull his team up to an absolutely nail-biting finish with a close call to win the Super Bowl. Reportedly, Mahomes’ ankle injury was not one he incurred during the finals. Throughout the playoffs, the QB went on to perform to the best of his ability even with a serious injury.

During the start of the playoffs, the Chiefs Kingdom had a scary moment when Mahomes suffered a scary injury. During a late first-quarter play against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mahomes got crushed between two defenders. While this was happening, the QB got injured on his right ankle. It was very obvious throughout the game that Mahomes was injured in the right ankle and it was serious. Amidst the game, he had to sit out for a bit and was even declared questionable to return to the game. After his injury in the first round, he went on to play throughout the whole playoffs with an injured ankle.

All in all, the QB was able to pull off one of the biggest feats with an injured ankle. However, there were moments throughout the whole playoff series wherein fans were convinced that the Chiefs’ run was coming to an end. However, with the Super Bowl secured,  it only remains to be seen if Mahomes will return healthy for the next season.
