The Dallas Cowboys haven’t won a single playoff game in the last three years. In the previous 12 years, they have won only two playoff games. They made the playoffs just 11 times in their previous 26 attempts. In fact, their infamous 4-11 playoff record is the lowest in the NFL.

But the Cowboys, with their steely performance (5-2) by far this season, have managed to gather plenty of aspirations to achieve the beyond one. And that is the reason behind speculations about the possible trading of a difference-making recruit ahead of the second lap.

With a few big names floating around, there was a lot of attention on the Dallas Cowboys. Moreover, the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is known to be an NFL mastermind. Jones has materialized a lot of crucial recruits for his side in the last few years. But when Johnathan Hankins was announced as their new bet, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe was very upset.

In his Skip and Shannon UNDISPUTED, he lashed out at this move by calling Hankins a “no difference maker” and just additional baggage to an already formidable defense lineup.

One of the NFL’s top defenses belongs to the Cowboys. And this season has witnessed their best defensive skills since 2003. In the seven games played so far, the D-line has amassed 29 sacks and given up just 1,296 net passing yards. Though blocking the run has been one of Dallas defense’s significant vulnerabilities.

Despite their promising numbers this season, the Cowboys have allowed the 20th-most rushing yards, allowing 4.4 yards per carry.  

Adding to their concerns, the Cowboys presently have four top-10 rushing offenses on their schedule for the remaining season. Saquon Barkley (Giants), Derrick Henry (Titans), Dalvin Cook (Vikings), and Jonathan Taylor (Colts) are among their potential challenges in the coming weeks.

Thus Hankins should likely take over the Cowboy’s front as early as Sunday, as they face the Bears, who rely heavily on the run. One will have to wait until the next few weeks to know if it turns out to be a blunder recruit or just Shannon’s unnecessary anxiety.
