NBA superstar Kevin Durant did see the Tennessee Titans as his favorite in their Divisional Round game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He did state this claim during his appearance on the Etcs with KD podcast. The former NBA champion did have faith in the talented Tennessee roster to go deeper in the NFL playoffs. His fellow co-host Eddie Gonzalez also was in agreement with KD’s assessment.

The 2-time NBA Finals MVP does see Tennessee’s elimination as a sort of a miss in relation to their talents. While discussing them, he states, ” They should have won. I actually feel like this was their year to actually make some noise. You know they got a talented team.”

He also did state that their talent-rich roster could have been a huge aid during their deep postseason run. He does believe that the ball didn’t at all bounce their way during their loss against the Bengals.
Kevin Durant Does Relate With Tennessee Struggles
Kevin Durant did feel and relate that Tennessee did not capitalize on what was a huge opportunity for the franchise. It is understandable that Tennessee did think of sticking with QB Ryan Tannehill. But one thing that had become clear as they did bow out of the Divisional Round was that he wasn’t the man. Durant relates with their situation when he was with the Oklahoma City Thunder when he wasn’t ready to handle the pressure.
Despite the variety of problems that were in question before the game almost every problem was solved. The star RB Derrick Henry was back, Tannehill also did have all his receivers fit and ready to go. The Titans’ defense was also a huge factor in their success this season. The ball was indeed in Tannehill’s grasp and at the first moment of pressure, he did wilt away.
The three interceptions he did throw in the game did prove costly for the Titans. Despite the team responding by coming back following his two interceptions, Tannehill did one more damaging throw which did get Bengals the ball. The resulting successful FG attempt by kicker Evan McPherson did end the Titans season too early than was in the plan. It was really a case of throwing the control away at the very moment Tannehill was indeed meant to lead.
