The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson have been at crossroads for a while now. Jackson is eagerly looking for a way out of Baltimore, but teams seem to be no longer interested. The Ravens pulled off a masterstroke, putting Lamar Jackson on their non-exclusive franchise tag allowing him to test the free agency waters. Many expected a plethora of offers to come rolling Lamar’s way but looks like the teams know something we don’t.

Former Super Bowl champion and 4x Pro Bowler with the New England Patriots, Asante Samuel, cautioned Jackson against joining the New England Patriots. Samuel cited Belichick as the primary reason for Jackson to avoid New England.

Lamar Jackson, my brother trust me you don’t want to play for Belichick,” said Samuel on Twitter.

Earlier Bill Belichick made headlines by slamming Patriots fans with a four-word message.  The Patriots have been knocked off the mountaintop, going without a playoff win in the last four years. Since Brady’s departure, the Patriots failed to even reach the playoffs for two years. With the series of unpleasant results, the otherwise loyal New England fanbase has started losing its trust in Belichick.

Belichick however, answered these concerns with a hint at history, “The last 25 years“.

Samuel calls out Bill Belichick

Asante Samuel has never been a fan of Belichick. Despite winning with Belichick as his head coach, Samuel feels that Tom Brady deserves the majority of the credit.

During an appearance on the ‘I am Athlete’ podcast, Samuel expressed his views on the matter.

Basically if you was coaching a team, and you was coaching a team and you had Tom (Brady), we would all win a championship. It’s not really like I am taking a shot, I am just speaking the facts”

He further added by saying “What did Belichick do, before he got New England, right? He won a championship as a defensive coordinator with Bill Parcels. So, he knows defense.”

Asante Samuel feels that Bill Belichick’s offensive prowess is purely overrated. Samuel didn’t shy away from calling out Belichick and believes that the New England head coach owes a lot of his success to Tom Brady. He stated “But I see with my own eyes, Tom, and Josh McDaniels put the offense together. So you can’t really give him credit of putting that offense together.

Asante Samuel, a former NFL player, is no stranger to calling out his former coach Bill Belichick. He’s been vocal about Belichick’s mistreatment of players in the past, and now he’s speaking out again and now it looks like he’s warning Lamar Jackson of a similar fate.
