Cook will relax as he watches their fresh addition terrorize other offenses instead of terrorizing them twice a year. It was a player they would welcome and count upon following their defensive troubles in the second half last season. The Vikings have seen a revamp of their entire defense with the introduction of a new defensive coordinator in Ed Donatell.

Is Dalvin Cook sensing a twist of fate?
The organization hopes that their gamble with Smith and Hunter works as long as they remain healthy. When healthy, the Vikings might possess one of the best pass-rushing duos in football under new defensive coordinator Donatell. They will help in taking away a lot of pressure off their secondary in the upcoming season.

The Vikings secondary allowed the 5th-most passing yards last season and will hope to move away from that occurrence in 2022. The aim for the Vikings this season would be to improve their defense while building on the offense from 2021.
