Some bad news comes towards the New England Patriots fans. It was reported that the Patriots will be adding their star quarterback Mac Jones to the injury reserves because of a thumb injury. With four games left in the season, the Patriots will have to fight harder to remain on the top.

The Patriots had the weekend off. They needed the rest after the gritty performance against the Buffalo Bills. Their win was impressive. Unfortunately, the off days could not prevent Mac Jones from entering the injury report for this week.

On Tuesday, Jones was added to the IR due to his thumb. Somehow the quarterback has hurt the thumb of his non-throwing hand. It is not good for New England as they need their rookie quarterback to lead their defense. The Patriots originally marked Mac Jones as a limited participant on Tuesday. But after the afternoon workout, it was clear that Jones was injured.
It is assumed that Jones might have hurt his hand in the game against the Bills. But honestly, it is still a mystery, as the rookie only threw three passes that day. He was fully cleared to play until Monday. Maybe he hurt his thumb in the bye week. Mac Jones is a crucial part of the Patriots. In his first year, Mac has made it clear that he is here to stay. In the 13 games that Mac Jones has played, he has a completion rate of over 70 percent. Jones has covered 2,869 passing yards and made 16 touchdowns with eight interceptions.
The Patriots cannot afford to lose another player at this point in the season. They already have nine players listed as limited.
Patriots amazing 2021 season
New England Patriots are on the top of the AFC East table. They have won all of their last five games and their current record is 9-4. The last time the Patriots lost a match was in week 6 when Dallas Cowboys defeated them 35-29.
The Patriots have bounced back stronger since then. They are a favorite to win the Super Bowl this year. To do that, they would require the services of all of their top players, and especially Mac Jones.
