On Monday night, the NFL world saw one of the most shocking results of the season. The Washington Commanders beat the Eagles at the Lincoln Financial Field Stadium. This loss also ended the Eagles’ 8-game unbeaten run in the 2022-23 season. Although many fans and experts were impressed by the Eagles’ run, former Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson had already figured out their play.

During a recent interview, Johnson predicted the Eagles’ future before their match-up against the Commanders. His prediction somewhat came true, as they suffered a loss against the Commanders.

Former Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson opens up about the Eagles’ fate

While talking to ‘Law Nation Sports’, the legendary Cowboys coach said, If you look at Philadelphia, they run at a little different style of offense that gives people problems right off the bat. Most of their scoring comes early, especially in the second quarter. But once a team adjusts to that different style, the second half, they play touch and go.

As per the former coach, teams can figure out their play if they play against them more than once. “And the other thing is a team playing them for the second time will be that better prepared for them,” Johnson further said.

Notably, Johnson said those words on 11th November and the Eagles played against the Commanders this Monday. Safe to say, his words came true, as Washington already played against them in the week 3 game and lost pretty badly. This Monday, the Commanders got their perfect revenge against the Eagles and became the first team to beat them this season.

Speaking about the Cowboys, they are also in the same NFC East division as the Eagles and the Commanders. So far, the Eagles are on the top of the group with an 8-1 record, and the Giants, Cowboys, and Commanders are all following them. According to Johnson, this America’s team is one of the best teams in recent years. He gave credit to the current head coach Mike McCarthy for their success this season.

Notably, Dallas is third on the table with a 6-3 record and has a great chance to qualify for the playoffs. However, they have to battle hard with the other teams, including all three in the NFC East division.
