The Cincinnati Bengals were way off when it came to their performances at the start of the season. However, now they are looking like the same side which was crowned as the AFC champions last season. While they extended their unbeaten run over the Chiefs this past Sunday, Joe Burrow and company are now starting to turn heads. The latest to acknowledge the danger of the Bengals is none other than Buffalo’s very own Josh Allen.

The Buffalo Bills’ quarterback recently joined Kyle Brandt for an interview. Following Sunday’s match-up, the host brought up the threat presented by Burrow and the Bengals. But Allen had nothing but respect for him in his answers.

“He’s playing some high-level football right now,” Allen answered. “He knows what’s going on, he’s one of the better quarterbacks in the league. I think his play shows for it.”

The first overall pick from the 2020 NFL Draft has been enjoying a successful time in Cincinnati. Last season Burrow was the league leader when it came to completion percentage (70.4). In addition to this, he also led the NFL in yards per passing attempt (8.9) even though he was the most sacked (51) quarterback. While the team started the season off really slowly, the 26-year-old has sneaked his way into the MVP conversation after handing out yet another defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes.

Burrow has now defeated Mahomes in three straight matchups, becoming the only player to face the Chiefs’ no.15 multiple times and be undefeated. He also keeps Tom Brady‘s company in accruing as many wins against Mahomes.

Josh Allen is looking forward to facing Burrow for the first time

The Buffalo Bills are scheduled to play the Bengals on the 3rd of January. This would mark the first matchup between Allen and Burrow. The game will see two of the AFC heavyweights go against each other, creating enough excitement as it is. While the Bengals are 8-4 and on tied at the top of the AFC North with the Ravens, the bills are sitting at the top AFC East with a record of 9-3.

Allen, who at one point, was leading the MVP race this season, has now fallen away. Even though he still remains in the running, Burrow is edging past him and their week 16 game might present the Bills’ QB to make a point to the world.
