Mike McCarthy’s Dallas Cowboys ended their 4-game losing streak with a win against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The NFC East franchise kept their playoff hopes alive with a 28-31 win at the US Bank Stadium in Week 11. It was not pretty by any means, but it will do.

The Cowboys have been plagued with injuries this season. Star quarterback Dak Prescott is out with a double compound fracture while rookie CB Trevon Diggs is also on the sidelines. In addition, coach McCarthy’s defense has severely underperformed in 2020.

But after a much-needed win, can the Cowboys still battle against all odds and make the post-season? Here’s what Jerry Jones has to say on that.

Dallas Cowboys fans eagerly look forward to Jerry Jones’ weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan radio show. In this week’s episode, the 78-year-old American businessman spoke about how a certain fruit ‘inspired’ his team to put an end to their losing run.

“Our team was inspired (Sunday at Minnesota). I don’t know if it was watermelon that got them inspired, but our team was inspired.

“So if it takes knocking the water out of watermelon before every ballgame, I’ll line up for volunteer duty,” Jones said on the radio show via Jon Machota.

The Cowboys put in a gritty display to outsmart the Vikings on their home turf by a narrow 3-point win. Backup QB Andy Dalton, rookie WR CeeDee Lamb, and RB Ezekiel Elliott put in a productive display last weekend.

In addition to that, experienced wideout Amari Cooper also impressed after having a largely below-par season in 2020.

Dallas Cowboys go up against NFC East rivals, Washington Football Team, on Thanksgiving Day. Both teams are in the mix for a playoff spot this season, so we expect this clash to be a feisty affair.

The Cowboys definitely need to stock up on some extra watermelons for this one!
