The Chicago Bears are a franchise that has been in quarterback purgatory for years. For those not aware of what that means, in the NFL it means a side that has a stacked roster capable of winning big but without a competent QB.

The last time the Chicago Bears won the Super Bowl was back in 1986. And back then the QB was Jim McMahon. Not one to ever shy away from speaking his mind, McMahon has been a headline grabber all his life.
Now long retired, McMahon remains the only quarterback to have ever played for both the Chicago Bears and their division rivals Green Bay Packers.

Not a pretty scenario for Chicago Bears
Recently, while speaking to 1252 Sports, McMahon wanted nothing to do with the Bears’ draft strategy for the upcoming event.
“I don’t know, don’t watch them, don’t care. I wouldn’t know what they need or who they’re thinking of drafting,” he said.

McMahon, who was drafted by the Chicago Bears franchise in 1982, won them their first and only Super Bowl in 1986 under the mentorship of legendary Head Coach Mike Ditka.
But ever since, the franchise has only managed to reach the Super Bowl once. And a lot of fans believe this is down to the franchise struggling with the quarterback position.
Even recently, the Bears offloaded former first-round pick Mitch Trubisky to sign veteran Andy Dalton. Many though remain unconvinced with the acquisition.

McMahon though believes that no QB can flourish with the franchise. And his reasoning is something that’ll make Chicago Bears fans happy.
“Chicago has always been known for their defense, right? Their defense and their running game. And that’s probably all they’re ever gonna be known for. I think it’s where quarterbacks go to die.”
And to add salt to the wound, McMahon even went on to say that Bears’ arch-nemesis Green Bay Packers were the best organization he’s ever played for.
“It was the best organization that I played for of the seven teams that I got to play for,” McMahon said. “From top to bottom, just great people.”
