Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller has one of the most motivating life stories. Waller rose from the ashes and became one of the best tight ends in the league. The 29-year-old TE wants the world to know about his and other celebrities’ life-changing experiences to make this world a better place. Darren Waller has started with his podcast that goes by the name ‘Comeback Stories’.

Recently, in an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Waller spoke about his upcoming podcast and talked about the disease of addiction that affected the youths in all parts of the world. 

Waller said, “So for me, I feel like just the disease of addiction in itself, it isolates you, it keeps you away from people, it puts a lot of shaming guilt on you and it makes you not want to tell anyone about what’s really going on. And you think that you’re not being a burden on somebody else’s life or that you’re protecting your image, but really you’re just harming yourself in private where nobody else can really get to you or see where you’re at.”

TE Darren Waller speaks about how addiction can lead anyone to isolation. People, in the process, harm themselves, and to be safe from it, good communication plays an important role. Waller gave his example and says to overcome addiction he needed a power higher than himself.

Waller talked about therapy and its advantages. He says therapy is the one thing that can buy freedom from addiction. People have many secrets, and they do not share them with anyone. Keeping everything to yourself takes away the joy of freedom one deserves.

A rocky start to the football journey of Darren Waller

Raiders TE has himself struggled with substance abuse that reflected in his career. Darren Waller was drafted in 2015 by the Baltimore Ravens as a Wide Receiver. He was suspended in 2016 for four games and in 2017 for the whole season due to violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Waller had his life-changing experience after he attended a 30-day rehabilitation program in McLean Borden Cottage in Camden. He came back strong and put all his focus on the game. Waller was spotted by former Raiders coach Jon Gruden, just before a Raiders vs Ravens match in 2018.

On that day, the Las Vegas Raiders lost to the Baltimore Ravens by 34-17. But, also won a star player, as they claimed Darren Waller on the same night. Moreover, Waller came to California two days later, and since then he has become one of the best tight ends in the league.
