Former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee was mirroring a true NFL fan perspective while discussing New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and his recent press conference. The Patriots head coach gave his signature brief answer during the press conference, and McAfee enjoyed every second of it. But more than his response, the question about the Patriots’ offense piqued every NFL fan’s interest.

During a recent press conference, Belichick was asked about who will be calling plays for the franchise next season as they remain in search of an offensive play-caller. While downplaying the importance of having someone in that role, he states, “When we get to it, we’ll get to it.”

There seemed to be a game of chess being played by the 5-time Super Bowl-winning head coach, and McAfee was all up for it. While reacting to his comments, the former Colts punter states:

Belichick continued to maintain a neutral stance when the media was enquiring about him potentially calling plays. While talking about the possibilities, he states, “I’ve called them and I haven’t called them. Other people have called them and haven’t called them. We’ll see.”

The Patriots boss kept his cards close to himself as he wants to appoint a new man for the vacant offensive coordinator position. It will be a new experience for the veteran head coach as he enters his first season without Josh McDaniels. The departure of McDaniels to the Las Vegas Raiders seems to have made it harder to appoint a replacement.
