THROWBACK: When the Saints almost eliminated the Bucs from playoffs qualification

Last year saw the New Orleans Saints top the NFC South standings. Coincidentally, just how the Bucs last match routed the Bears 38-3, the Saints routed the Bucs with the same scoreline last year. This led to Tampa Bay and Brady qualifying for the playoffs as wildcards.

In the 38-3 drubbing of the Bucs last year, Drew Brees was the MVP. Brees passed for 222 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-3 demolition of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, reclaiming the NFL career TD pass lead and propelling the New Orleans Saints into first place in the NFC South. Despite the opposite positions in the divisional standings, the Bucs went on to win the Super Bowl last year. On their way to win, they also got to take revenge against the Saints for the drubbing in the playoffs!
