Antonio Brown last played in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January 2022. Since his contract was terminated by the Bucs, Brown has been at it with the team and their star asset, Tom Brady. After the team lost yet another game, inflicting tremendous damage on their playoff hopes, Brown rubbed some salt on the wounds that are still fresh from the shocking loss against the Cleveland Browns.

The Buccaneers have largely struggled this season. Though they still top their division, that could change quickly if their form doesn’t pick up.

Antonio Brown rubs salt in the wounds of Tom Brady

The Buccaneers lost their sixth game of the season when the Cleveland Browns produced a shock result in their week 12 clash. Their offensive struggles continued as the team failed to put the game to bed after taking a lead. That allowed the Browns to come back into the game. Keeping with his recent trend, Antonio Brown took the opportunity to take a dig at the franchise and Tom Brady.

“Thought y’all could find someone do what I do,” Brown tweeted, tagging the Bucs and Brady’s TB12 Sports. “I’m still waiting sorry ahhhhh boys,” the former Buccaneers wide receiver added before taking a personal dig at Brady’s trainer Alex Guerrero.

Brown’s relationship with Brady soured after the Buccaneers terminated the wide receiver’s contract in January. Since then, he has repeatedly taken jibes on the legendary QB. And with the Buccaneers struggling this season, it may be taken as rubbing salt on the wounds of his former teammate.

The controversy

Antonio Brown took the field for the Buccaneers against the New York Jets in January 2022. He caught three receptions for 26 yards in the game before removing his uniform and running into the locker room in the third quarter. The Buccaneers trailed the Jets 24-10 at that point. Tom Brady led a comeback for the Bucs after Brown left the game. The legendary QB ensured a 27-24 win over the Jets with a 33-yard touchdown pass to Cyril Grayson.
