Former Raiders superstar Derek Carr made a lot of noise in the quarterback market before free agency. After talking to multiple teams, he eventually signed with New Orleans Saints. Notably, New Orleans pushed for a trade early in February; however, the Raiders did not allow it because Carr did not have a trade clause in his contract. Meanwhile, during the recent episode of the ‘Undisputed’ show, NFL Hall of Famer and 3x Super Bowl champion Shannon Sharpe made fun of Carr, using Baker Mayfield‘s reference.

Carr opened up about his bitter ending with the Raiders

Notably, after leaving the Raiders, Carr posted a heartfelt message on his social media thanking all the fans. Although he felt heartbroken by the exit, he refused to point fingers at anyone.

However, it seems like he changed his mind during his introductory press conference for the Saints. In the presser, he spilled some truth about accepting a trade while being with the Raiders. “I was very willing to accept a trade… But I was only able to talk to one team. I was only given permission to talk to one team… I can’t possibly make that decision without being able to talk to other people,” Carr said during his presser.

Despite the bitter end, Carr is still thankful to the Raiders organization for picking him in the NFL Draft, as he spent 9 wonderful years with the Las Vegas franchise. Now, he feels happy to join the Saints and wishes to take the franchise to the next level.
