Recently, the Chiefs QB became the second-largest shareholder in American State Bank (ASB), a Texas-based financial institution. It could be a special moment for the top star. Because it is the place where he learned his first lessons in money management, at 16 years.

The teenager Mahomes started his first bank account with the American State Bank. “I opened my first account with American State Bank when I was just 16 years old. From my time at Texas Tech and throughout my career in Kansas City, ASB has been a constant in my life,” a spirited Mahomes said. That decision was the footstep for a fruitful present, admitted Mahomes. Meanwhile, the noted bank aims to expand its base of customers and set its space in digital finance. 

When Patrick Mahomes became a half-billion-dollar player

Super Bowl-winning QB agreed to a historic $500 million contract extension with the Chiefs in 2020. The 10-year deal made him the first half-billion-dollar player in sports history. While announcing the deal, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt made a tremendous shout-out to Mahomes. 

Hunt called PM15 “one of the most prolific athletes in all the sports,” and leveled great expectations. An iconic star, Mahomes made a brilliant beginning to the new season, and later on, continued his stunning run throughout the season. 

Mahomes is on an MVP race

The future GOAT has made a massive impression in the league, in his six-season career. In 2022, he is leading the race for the MVP, with Josh Allen racing behind him. Earlier in the 2019-20 playoffs, Mahomes led the Chiefs to the Super Bowl LIV title with a thumping win over the 49ers. The superstar was awarded the Super Bowl MVP for his performances.
