Former Baltimore Ravens tight end Shannon Sharpe is a renowned NFL legend among the fans and known for his hot takes on FOX Sports. However, Sharpe’s comments have also divided fans since he joined the network in 2014 as an NFL analyst. The 3-time Super Bowl champion recently shared his views on how the fan reaction to his criticism is sometimes too polarizing.

During a recent segment on FS1’s UNDISPUTED show, Sharpe shared the example of the outrage of Ravens QB Lamar Jackson over Bernard Pollard. He believes some of his takes upset the fans and some NFL players. However, he is just trying to present an honest analysis of the different situations.

He stated, “Bro, you do realize I was a Raven? I was a Raven before Lamar even thought about or knew about who or what the Ravens were…I want everybody, especially with the teams that I played for the Ravens and the Broncos, yes I openly root for them. Absolutely. But I have to be honest. I’m saying I don’t believe at this current time, and I’m not to say that he can’t get better.”

The legendary TE also believes that the 2019 AP NFL MVP has all the tools to be one of the best QBs. However, Sharpe admits Jackson remains a bit lacking in that department, with his inconsistent and inaccurate passes. The Ravens QB’s shortcomings are a reason, according to Sharpe, that the franchise remains distant from Super Bowl contention.

As a franchise, the AFC North division has been growing stronger with every passing year, and the Ravens found themselves with many challengers.

Jackson and his resurgence in the 2022 NFL campaign will be something that Ravens fans will count upon for success.

As another NFL season approaches, the franchise will look to turn back the time and win the AFC North division in 2022. While the Ravens QB will look to erase the memories of a disappointing 2021 campaign, a strong comeback next season will be an encouraging sign for all the fans.
