The Philadelphia Eagles fans are known for their passion. And the opposition always faces a hostile environment at the Lincoln Financial Field. But sometimes, that passion can turn into something else entirely and affect anyone not a part of the Eagles fandom. The wife of a San Francisco 49ers star felt something like that during the NFC championship game last Sunday.

The San Francisco 49ers star’s wife felt unsafe in Philly

The Niners traveled to Philadelphia to face the Eagles in the NFC championship game last Sunday. And in the traveling contingent was Sydney, the wife of the 49ers LB Fred Warner. Sydney recalled feeling unsafe around the home fans who constantly heckled her.

I tried my best to just not let it get to me. Like stay stone face, just walk and just let them throw stuff at you, say all the things and just get to where you’re going. Just block it out,” Sydney said, according to TMZ.

But that was not all. Sydney revealed that when she got up to leave the stadium early, some fans said something to her that she will never forget.

“The way they were just like ‘go home, go home’, but that’s fine. I get it, but ‘I hope your plane crashes!'” she said. Sydney vowed never to go to Philadelphia again for an NFL game.

“I’m all about passion, but never again,” she added.

Warner and the Niners defense did their best to dig their heels and stop the Eagles offense. But injuries on the offensive side put a damper on every plan.

Injuries end Niners season

The Niners went into the NFC championship game with an eye on the Super Bowl. And why not? They had a marauding offense and the league’s best defense. But everything went wrong for the visitors on the offensive side of the ball.

The Niners lost their QB1 Brock Purdy to a UCL tear in the first quarter of the game. Then the backup QB Josh Johnson went down with a concussion, leaving the team effectively without a QB. Purdy came back in but could not throw much. And that made the job of the Eagles defense pretty straightforward. The Eagles ran away with a 31-7 win.

Sydney wasn’t alone who faced the Philly fans. The Niners pass rusher Nick Bosa’s brother Joey Bosa had an altercation with home fans outside the stadium. Is it justified to heckle the families of the opposition players?
