The 2021 NFL season for the Tennessee Titans has not been any different than their seasons for the last few years. In light of this trend, there were rumors swirling about quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s future with the Titans. However, The Titans’ GM Jon Robinson has quashed rumors surrounding Ryan Tannehill and his future in Tennessee.

During an interview with Ben Arthur of The Tennessean, Titans GM Jon Robinson said, “Ryan’s a pro. He knows how much he means to us……. I think it’s pretty apparent where he stands with us. He’s (Tannehill) our quarterback. I don’t know how many more times I gotta say it.”

In 2020, Tannehill signed a four-year extension with the Tennessee Titans. As a result, the Titans will have him through the 2023 season. The reliable quarterback hasn’t missed a game in two years.

In addition, he has led the Titans to their third straight playoff appearance. Nevertheless, the only major concern is that he tends to make major mistakes.

Titans GM is too supportive of Ryan Tannehill

He said, “It was a problem (in 2021). The previous years, it really wasn’t. Not that he didn’t throw any (interceptions), but it wasn’t as many as he threw this past year.”

He added, “Nobody probably feels worse than Ryan. Not to speak for Ryan about the amount of interceptions that went down this year and probably not all of them are on him………… There’s a lot that goes into those plays. But ultimately, the quarterback is the one who bears the blame for it.”

During the 2020 NFL season, Tannehill took 24 sacks; in the 2021 NFL season, the number doubled to 47. Moreover, he threw 14 interceptions, further aggravating the situation. Despite these stats, GM Jon Robinson wasn’t worried.

The Tennessee Titans finished this season with a 12-5 record. Unfortunately, the Titans lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional round, ending their successful season.
