Cleveland Browns Defensive End Myles Garrett added one more name, Tom Brady, to his list of sacked quarterbacks. For him, losing stinks more than absorbing excruciating hits. The youngster revealed the motivation that he sought from his late grandfather.

While speaking to the reporters, Garrett mentioned having recalled his grandfather and father’s words.

“I have a lot of family members that have served, and my PawPaw passed away the beginning of the year, and he was a service member,” Garrett said in the press conference.“I remember my dad [Lawrence] just telling me to play this year for him, and I knew there was no better game to just find a way to win, find a way to turn it on,” he added.

Regardless, he fared well in that aspect, absorbing a dangerous hit from Bucs left guard Nick Leverett and tackle Donovan Smith. On a scale of 1 to 10, Garrett revealed the pain was nine, but still got up and continued to play.

Garrett wanted to get Cleveland Browns a win

Garrett’s masterclass came in the final three minutes with 2:26 left in the fourth quarter. Brady was trying for third-and-13, and that’s when Garrett penetrated the O-line effortlessly. He was accompanied by Jadeveon Clowney for the sack and Garrett mentioned the moment to be wholesome, relieving his pain from the earlier hit.

“I just needed some air, and I just knew that at the end of the day, this pain will come and go, but that pain of losing, that feeling that comes with losing, that that’ll never dissipate,” Garrett said proudly during the press meet. Eventually, with Tampa Bay pointing the ball six plays later, the Browns’ offense got successful in rolling the ball deep.

Star Tight End David Njoku connected for a surreal touchdown catch at the endzone with just 32 seconds left in regulation. This helped the Browns to progress towards overtime and improve their record against Tom Brady.
