But the Packers were provided with a gift that not at all possess. They were given a sneak into their future. With Aaron Rodgers not starting the preseason games, the apparent Packers heir to the throne Jordan Love took snaps.

Jordan Love does his bit for Green Bay Packers in preseason

“I think for the most part he’s done a nice job,” LaFleur said while talking to ESPN“Certainly these are teachable moments, and I think you have to experience those and go through those in a game setting to really learn from them, so I’m pretty certain that he will learn from those mistakes and hopefully he doesn’t repeat them.”

LaFleur knows that this would probably be the last time the young QB would get a chance to play this season. From what we’ve seen, he definitely does show promise. But is he truly the worthy successor to Aaron Rodgers?

There is obviously the possibility of Love reaching that level someday. But for now, he’s still got a lot of catching up to do to take over as the side’s QB1.
