The Pittsburgh Steelers have squandered all of their early season momentum. While they remained undefeated for much of the season, they are on a current three-game losing streak right now. It is a very surprising turnaround for a team that was 11-0 earlier this season.

Former NFL player Marcus Spears spoke about the Steelers’ latest loss to the Bengals. He believes that the Bengals did not care about how the Steelers would approach the game.

“This is one of those football questions we can answer for fans. If you just go back and look at that game against the Bengals, they did not care one iota about the Pittsburgh Steelers running the football.” 

Spears further explained the problems that plagued the Steelers, especially against the Steelers right now. “They got up and pressed these dudes.

“They were like, ‘Look, we are either going to get beat, or we’re going to force Ben and his 2.1 seconds of getting rid of the ball to beat them. Pittsburgh looks old.

“The offensive line is bad. They ripped off a few runs last night. Which is to be expected when Cincinnati ain’t worried about the passes.”

For Spears, Pittsburgh Steelers’ major concern is star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. “And then you look at Ben, and Ben said it best – you can’t make mistakes. You know this team is reeling offensively. You know the deficiencies that y’all have.

“So 2 turnovers, the interceptions, and obviously the center quarterback exchange, which was all him, he didn’t close his bottom hand up. This is bad.”

Spears gave a scathing review about the Steelers. He believes that they will not do well in the Playoffs, despite how well they started the season. But that isn’t where the problems end.

“This is a team that will be done in the first week of the Playoffs. This is a team that has offensively only one go-to, and that is try to get receivers the ball and hope they make plays after the catch.

“No physicality, the offensive line is not good – this is never supposed to be associated with the Pittsburgh Steelers. And we’re seeing it all over the place.

“Plus a aging quarterback that can’t make up for the things that you’re lacking because obviously, he’s a part of the problem now”

Perhaps the Steelers can turn their season around in their remaining few games. However, they only have a short amount of time to gain some momentum ahead of their playoff run begins next year.
