Since Aaron Rodgers came out of his ‘darkness retreat’, there has been a lot of speculation regarding his future in the NFL. Currently, he has a massive contract with the Packers; however, it looked like he played his farewell game for the Packers last season against the Lions. Since then, many teams are enquiring about the 4-time MVP as a possible trade option. Meanwhile, former Packers quarterback, Kurt Benkert, recently named two possible teams which could be Rodgers’ next possible destination in the 2023 season.

In a recent interview with the Spun, Benkert talked about Rodgers’ future. Notably, Benkert is currently a free agent and looking for the team in the 2023 season. Apart from playing football, the 27-year-old is also a popular figure on Twitch, which could be a second career path for him if he doesn’t get a team to play football.

Kurt Benkert opens up about Aaron Rodgers’ future

The Jets are a possibility, as they are one of the teams that actually made an inquiry about Rodgers to the Packers. Recently, they had a meeting with former Raiders QB, Derek Carr, which reportedly went well. Moreover, they assured him that he could become a ‘first ballot Hall of Famer’ if he joins the team. However, the Jets did not sign him, as they are possibly still waiting on Rodgers.

While talking to the Spun, Benkert said, “Aaron Rodgers is going to end up either a New York Jet or a Miami Dolphin. If I had to REALLY guess, I’d say the Miami Dolphins (because they) have the roster to win a Super Bowl and he could really enjoy some time in the warmth (and) defrost a little bit after all of these years.”

As for the Dolphins, they are still committed to Tua Tagovailoa; however, Tagovailoa’s constant dealing with concussions has been worrisome for the Dolphins’ team. In that case, if Rodgers shows some interest in them, the Dolphins could be tempted to make a trade. Apart from these two teams, the Raiders are also an option for the QB, as he made a statement recently about the Raiders. Moreover, if Carr joins the Jets, it could open Rodgers’ path to the Raiders.
