A couple of months ago, Davante Adams got traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. He left Aaron Rodgers to join forces with his best friend, Derek Carr. Adams and Carr have played together during their college days also. Now again, they have the opportunity to play alongside each other in the NFL.

Even though Adams has got the opportunity to play with his friend, the decision to leave Green Bay wasn’t easy. He was the WR1 for Aaron Rodgers, and renouncing a quarterback like him for someone else is very tough. Recently Adams opened up on his decision to leave the Green Bay Packers. He indicated that the whole situation around the potential retirement of Rodgers played a huge part in it.

Davante Adams said, “We had talks just like what he said the other day. He mentioned we had talks about his future and what he thinks his duration in Green Bay or just football, in general, would look like, and that played into my decision, as well.”
He added, “So my decision was to be here, and he respected that, he understood that it has a lot to do with where I want to raise my kids, family, being closer to home… so we kind of just left it at that.”
Davante Adams claimed that he didn’t want to sacrifice his peak if Rodgers decided to retire. As a result, he pursued a trade to the Raiders, and now he has an opportunity to showcase his talent in another conference.

Davante Adams will be playing for the Las Vegas Raiders next season. He is no longer a part of the NFC. Moreover, he will be involved in a tough fight for the title of AFC West. He will play alongside his long-time friend Derek Carr, but he is bound to miss Rodgers.

Rodgers and Adams were one of the best QB-WR duos in the NFL. Opposing defenses were always extra cautious while covering Adams. Both Adams and Rodgers made each other better on the field. As a result, they are likely to miss each other’s quality whenever they take the field in the upcoming season. It will be interesting to see how they both will fare in the new situations around them.
