Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III’s bold projects have unfortunately come to a halt. The athlete pledged in his Tell-All book that he would communicate his displeasure with the Washington team during his tenure, but abandoned his plans months after the announcement.

Griffin announced the book in November 2021 where he would share his experience with the Washington Team. The project would cover the medical mishandling, the fallout between HC and the owner, and the misconduct which surrounded the organization’s walls. They would have released the book in August.

The analyst appears to be making an unusual decision, as he would have released the book soon. Now that the book is no longer in production, is it possible that he just abandoned all hope?

Robert Griffin III forsakes it all

According to Pro Football Talk, Giffin announces he will not be publishing the narrative about his experience with the current Commanders franchise in a statement released by his broadcasting agent, Mark Lepselter. Sources also state that the former athlete was having second thoughts over the idea. Even Co-author Gary Myers has moved on.

The analyst said in his statement, “Through the process of thinking about writing a book, I’ve learned that this is an issue bigger than one person. I want to give space to and elevate those who have already come forward while encouraging those who have not yet to feel empowered to speak.”

Robert Griffin calls it something very qualified people are proceeding to handle with compassion and seriousness. He learned the book was not the correct forum for this issue, and he intends to address his experience in the future but meaningfully.

Quarterback Robert Griffin III set a record with 258 passes with a 65.6 completion percentage, 3200 yards, and 20 touchdowns in his rookie season. He secured the Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and a trip to the Pro Bowl. He spent 3 years with the franchise after being selected second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft.

However, Griffin III’s performance degraded significantly. The Redskins won just five games with him before turning to Kirk Cousins as the starting QB in 2015. The athlete also worked with the Baltimore Ravens, but they cut him off after a 3-year run.

Even though the athlete confirms that the change in plans was not pressurized, this is a move that has raised some eyes over what made the analyst back out of a bold project. He might speak of the incident in the future, but it might not be in a narrative format.
