It took 13 weeks for the Detroit Lions to seal their first win. The game still had a dramatic end to it just like every typical Lions game. They snatched off the win from the Minnesota Vikings with a successful final drive from Jared Goff. The quarterback hurled the ball for a touchdown to receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown with literally no time left in the clock.

Brown was seen sitting on the touchline with a sense of disbelief for a second or two. But then began a celebration no less than a championship-winning cheer, echoing all around the Ford Stadium. The home fans, desperate for a win, got a sigh of relief that they are not going to go down in the history as the fourth team to finish a regulation season with zero wins, at least not today.

Detroit Lions seal their first win against Minnesota Vikings

The win was significant not just for the Lions but also for Goff. It was the first time in his career that he had won a game without coach Sean McVay. Goff entered the Vikings matchup with a pitiful 0-16-1 record without the likes of McVay.

The 27-year-old quarterback finished the game after completing 25 of 41 pass attempts covering 296 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.

For St. Brown, he rose to the role of improbable hero. The rookie receiver collected ten catches for 86 yards and the game-winning score, which was especially amazing given that he had caught zero touchdown passes prior to Week 13.

Lions are mathematically alive to make the playoffs

No sooner did the Lions emerge victoriously, the Twitter started doing what they do the most, troll of course. The NFL Twitter roasted the Detroit Lions for having won their first game after so much struggle and drama throughout the season.

Although the Lions record 1-10-1 so far this season, they do remain mathematically alive to make the playoffs (like literally). However, that seems like a far-fetched idea. As of now, they will be relieved to not end their season with a winless abomination.
