His old teammate and Broncos QB, Russell Wilson, used the same hand signals from his time in Seattle. Lockett was mic’d up for the game. So, he sensed the opportunity and passed the information to his teammates. In the videos, he can be heard decoding hand signals of Wilson to the other Seahawks players.

“If you see this, it’s a go,” Lockett told Seahawks safety, Tariq Woolen, with a hand gesture. Sitting on the sideline, he later yelled, “He’s running a go! He’s running a go,” while talking to the Seahawks defense. Meanwhile, the 29-year-old’s gestures become a talking point on Twitter. Several NFL fans shared their views on social media. Some others doubted Russell Wilson’s quality as he was traded for a hefty price tag of $240Million.

One user tweeted, “you can’t change your hand signals”. Another user saw the funny side. ” Yards don’t win games, points do,” the tweet read. Lockett later informed Broncos receivers Courtland Sutton and KJ Hamler that the hand signals they used were predictable. “Change them signals,” he said.

The 29-year-old Lockett has been playing in the league for seven seasons. He has spent his entire career in Seattle. The receiver often credits Russell Wilson for helping him to become an impact player in the NFL. 

New roles and responsibilities 

Lockett is the replacement for Wilson as the team’s offensive captain. According to him, it is a superb opportunity to give back to his team. However, the challenge before the dependable star is to ensure that his team inflicts some damage on the field.
