Thursday night was a history-making night for the Philadelphia Eagles. For the first time in their history, the Eagles opened the season with an impressive 8-0 record after their win against the Houston Texans. The Eagles are now the only undefeated team in the NFL and sit atop their division and conference. Unsurprisingly, Eagles’ fanbase is elated.

After the game, NFL analyst Skip Bayless was all praise for Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. Hurts’ impressive performance prompted the die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan to accept that he can’t hate the eagles.

Fans ecstatic after the Philadelphia Eagles achieve a historic 8-0 streak

Fans went totally berserk on Twitter after the Eagles won the game. The Eagles’ fans are mostly overjoyed at this win, and are celebrating their historic achievement. But other fans of rival teams are not so happy, instead taking the time to rain on the Eagles’ parade. Talks of how the Eagles have only faced weak opponents, and how they will be decimated come Christmas eve by the Dallas Cowboys took center stage.

There are also throwback comparisons to the Pittsburgh Steelers of 2020. The Steelers were 11-0 in week 13 and ended the season 12-4 with 3 consecutive losses. And then, they went ahead and lost their AFC WildCard round to the Cleveland Browns. It seems like some are expecting history to repeat itself.

Eagles struggle to secure historic win against Houston Texans

The Eagles‘ historic night did not come easily. For the first half of the game, they were neck-and-neck with the Texans on points, scoring 7 in each quarter. Only in the third quarter did the Eagles pull ahead with a 4 point difference. They ended the game by stopping the Texans from scoring at all in the 4th quarter, while the Eagles scored 8. The game ended 29-17.

Jalen Hurts was the undisputed star of the game. At least, in terms of the offensive game, as he secured 21/27 for 243 yards, and 2 touchdowns, and he also managed to rush 9 times for 23 yards. While Hurts’ solid performance helped the offense score, Javon Hargrave was having a blast in the defense, with 6 tackles, 1 assist, and 3 sacks. It almost felt like Hargrave would run down every single man on the Texans’ offense.

The Eagles will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten status as they face division rivals Washington Commanders next week. Judging by the recent performances of the Commanders, and their 4-4 record, the Eagles should have an easy time. The Commanders will face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, who are 6-1, this week. Could the Eagles go for 17-0?
