The NFL has suspended the game for the day and the new date will come in due course. But nobody in the NFL world is concerned about any game at the moment. All everyone wants is health for Hamlin and a stand of solidarity with his family. This is the second major incident this year after the Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered a horrific concussion against the same team earlier in the season.

The course of events

The Bills’ clash with the Bengals was a greatly anticipated one in week 17. But the fans hadn’t even settled in when Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field in the first quarter of the game. The Bills safety collided with the Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins during a play. He did try to get up after the collision but couldn’t. The medics rushed in to administer the CPR procedure on the field. An ambulance then rushed Hamlin to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further treatment.

After the NFL suspended the game, many players from both the teams went to the hospital to check on Hamlin. Higgins’s mother consoled the wide receiver during the hospital visit.
