For Cowboys fans, 2020 has been a year to forget. From the off-field drama surrounding Dak Prescott’s contract extension to a series of dismal outings on the field, nothing has gone according to plan for ‘America’s Team’.

With a shot at the Playoffs almost mathematically out of reach, the Cowboys’ misery has only been compounded with the news of star running back Ezekiel Elliott picking up a knock.

Nonetheless, Elliott looks determined to play through the pain and make the most out of what has been a disappointing season for him on the personal front as well.

Ezekiel Elliott ‘tough’ enough for the task

The former Ohio State running back cleared the air about his injury while talking to the Dallas Morning News. “It’s more of a contusion… like a big bruise,” the running back said while describing his injury.

“I’m sure it’s going to be sore during the game, but it’s Week 14… Everyone is going to be sore. I don’t think it should limit me much at all. I mean, it might be a little tender, but I’m tough,” he added.

No plan on letting his teammates down

While the veteran running back is unsure as to when he picked up the knock against the Baltimore Ravens in GameWeek 13, he vowed to battle through the pain to help his team end the season on a high.

“I think it’s important, one, just because we’re not out of it (Playoffs). Then two, just for my brothers. That’s why I go out there and play. I go out there and play for my brothers and my teammates… I’m not going to sell them short,” he said.

Struggling to rack up yards

The running back has been a shadow of his former self this season. Statistically, Zeke is having the worst season of his career so far.

The 25-year-old has only managed to score 5 touchdowns this season, a paltry sum when compared to the 12 he scored the year before.

Even his overall rushing efficiency has taken a hit. Averaging just 3.9 yards per carry, Zeke is almost half a yard short of his career average.

With the running back struggling to carry a Prescott-less Cowboys offense, do the Cowboys and Zeke have enough in the tank to finish the season on a high?
