Former Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson entered the league at the age of 22. Since then, he has been associated with two teams, Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns. Deshaun Watson has had a roller coaster ride in his NFL career with those untimed injuries and controversies surrounding him. Watson had started his rookie season in 2017 with a dream to break the records of Tom Brady. 

In 2017, while talking to NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, Watson said, “If Tom wins, it’s going to six, right? I want to be at seven.” By then Tom Brady had won 5 Super Bowl games, and Watson was talking about winning more Super Bowl games than Brady.

Watson further said, “Whatever it takes to be the best, the greatest, and not just for me, but for any athlete, especially quarterback … if you don’t want to chase Tom Brady and [be] above him, you’re selling yourself short. I always put my mentality with [being] the best, and Tom Brady is the best right now, so whatever I have to do to get to that level at age 40, that’s what I’m going to do.”

Watson has always looked up to Tom Brady as one of the greatest players in the NFL. He says it is important for any player, especially quarterbacks, to run after the best. If a player is not playing to break the league’s best records, then it is of no use. He also wishes to achieve more than what Brady achieved at the age of 40.

Deshaun Watson was the first player to be selected for 3 consecutive Pro Bowls

Deshaun Watson wanted to win a Super Bowl while he was in Houston Texans. Also, the Texans are one of the four teams who have never appeared in a Super Bowl match. Interestingly, Watson’s current team Cleveland Browns has also never made it to a Super Bowl.

Watson had the best season in his professional career in 2018. He finished with a career-high 4,165 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, during the regular season. 

In January 2019, he was selected for his first Pro Bowl, replacing the Super Bowl-bound Tom Brady. Also, Watson became the first in the league to be selected for three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2018 to 2020.
