New York Giants Executive Vice President and general manager, Dave Gettleman is probably on his way out. This will most likely be his last year with the Giants. Gettleman has run the Giants’ personnel department since 2018.

Gettleman has been with the Giants for four years. During his tenure, he has failed to win anything at all. The Giants already shocked everyone when they fired their offensive coordinator Jason Garrett earlier this week. Keeping that in mind, if they fire Dave Gettleman, it will not be a surprise. With an eye towards the future, this might not be the only big change in New York.
It is very unlikely that we will see Gettleman with the Giants in the 2022 season. Dave will be 71 by then and might even choose to retire by himself.
Looking at his record with the Giants and how he cannot produce a winning squad, maybe it’s time they let Gettleman go. The Giants head coach Joe Judge always backed up his boss, but the coach is safe for next season.

Giants moving forward
After trading Justin Fields to the Chicago Bears, the Giants have two first-round picks in next year’s draft. They need to make good use of these picks. There are going to be many changes taking place in New York in the coming months. It will probably be a pretty different team next season compared to what it is right now.
Whoever the next General manager of the Giants will be, he will need to make a few big decisions. They will also have to decide the future of Gettleman’s biggest ever picks, quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley. A $7.2 million salary has already been guaranteed to Barkley for the 2022 season. Daniel Jones’ faith also hangs in the balance as his fifth and final year as a rookie will end. The Giant will need to decide whether to re-sign him.
The Giants are in a bit of a stint as if now. They beat Philadelphia Eagles in impressive fashion. Does this mean we’re witnessing the beginning of a decent run for the Giants? They could be a late candidate for the Wild Card rounds as well.
