Miami Dolphins ahead of their Houston Texans fixture revealed that Tua Tagovailoa won’t start today. The rookie who was listed as questionable in the Dolphins injury report will now miss the Texans fixture because he fractured his middle finger on his throwing hand, which won’t take much time to heal, according to the report by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Dolphins head coach Brian Flores wants to take no chances on his starting quarterback. Therefore, sidelining him for the day seemed to be the best option available to him. However, filling up for him, Jacoby Brissett would be leading the Miami offense in the Hard Rock Stadium.

No start for Tua Tagovailoa

“So, yeah he banged in the game (at Buffalo last Sunday),” Flores earlier said, shedding some light on Tagovailoa’s injury. “Obviously he was able to finish the game. Some swelling, a little sore. He’s limited at practice, so we’ll see how he does today. We’ll just monitor it over the next couple of days.”

Since the Dolphins‘ roster lacks the depth in quality quarterbacks. If things don’t go as planned and unfortunately, the backup QB Brissett sustains any injury during the game, it would be Tagovailoa‘s responsibility to lead the Dolphins’ offense thereon.

Tua having a rough NFL career start

The rookie quarterback is having a rough time in his NFL career as he has been struggling to keep himself healthy this season. Since earlier this season, Tua suffered a rib injury and was placed on the injury reserve, making him miss three crucial games against Las Vegas, Indianapolis and Tampa Bay.

However, Tua was not the only one limited every day this week. Along with him, linebacker Jerome Baker and safety Brandon Jones too missed a week’s session with the team. Baker, who also missed the Buffalo game, was listed questionable ahead of the week 9 fixture against Texans. While Jones is all set to start the game, unlike the other two.
